Worksheets 9-12
The worksheets all offer focus and activities to set the topic value into context and help children deepen its meaning. They are proposed as support to the parent or teacher keen on value education. Owing to the "elastic capacity" of Marty's metaphor, and the topics themselves that "grow with us", many of them, though designed for younger children, can be adapted to older age groups.
The concepts can be explored at various levels, and the activities are meant as a source of inspiration. Build onto them with further input, experiential activities and your own creativity! The value staircase and the value compass are two such examples of how this can be done. They were both used by a group of adolescents to work at the value of character (unity of head, heart and hand). Their visual arts teacher "translated them" into three dimensional blocks (the steps of the staircase) and an interactive wall game! See our gallery!
